Heidi Williams
Practice Leader
The moment Heidi was introduced to Buddhism and meditation in 2011 it was like someone turned the lights on in the room. Life made sense. She pursued learning and developing her meditation practice in the midst of a busy life with a young family for a number of years, learning from local teachers and mentors, going to retreats when possible, and seeking inspiration further afield, with teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön.
As life unfolded Heidi’s practice developed, and on retreat in 2020 she was looking to find a teacher, and was given Mingyur Rinpoche’s name. She found his way of teaching and communicating to be incredibly clear and accessible, and transformative in the way that he also offers practical advice for bringing it into in daily life.
Since that time Heidi has studied and practiced under Mingyur Rinpoche and is a Practice Leader and Board member of Tergar Australia.
Meditation and understanding her mind better has had a hugely positive impact on Heidi’s life, and has motivated her to share this with others.
She has completed the yearlong Tergar Meditation Teacher Program, and is now a Tergar Certified Anytime Anywhere Meditation Teacher. In addition, Heidi has completed the half-year Meditation Teacher Training with the Broadplace’s Jacqui Lewis as well as a 70-hour Pranayama (breathwork) Teacher Training.
Heidi lives close to the sea on the Mornington Peninsula and is in her happy place connecting with the natural world: in the water, the beach or surrounded by trees.
