Anytime Anywhere Meditation - with Heidi Williams and Jeremy Wortsman

Meditation is easier than you think...

In today's fast-paced world, stress, anxiety, and overwhelm seem to be constant companions. What if there was a way to navigate these challenges with more ease and resilience?

We are excited to announce that we are running an Anytime Anywhere Meditation workshop this spring, led by two of our new graduates from the Tergar Meditation Teacher Program, Jeremy Wortsman and Heidi Williams. This is the first time we have offered this program in our community, outside of the event that Mingyur Rinpoche led when he visited Australia in 2023. For those who are new to meditation, or for those looking to really bring meditation in daily life, this could be a good one for you to consider.

Beginning on October 7 across five 90 minute sessions, Tergar Certified Anywhere Anytime Meditation Instructors Heidi Williams and Jeremy Wortsman will teach an Anytime Anywhere Meditation workshop that introduces a simple yet transformative practice that helps you connect with inner qualities of awareness, compassion, and wisdom to find balance amidst the chaos.

Designed by world-renowned meditation teacher and best-selling author Mingyur Rinpoche, Anytime Anywhere Meditation is a short, comprehensive program that makes meditation accessible and practice for modern life.

No experience is required, and anyone can join, regardless of religious or cultural orientation.

You will learn to:

  • Discover the innate qualities of awareness, compassion, and wisdom

  • Meditate confidently, even with a busy schedule

  • Develop a lasting meditation habit

  • Apply meditation to everyday life

About your Instructors, Heidi Williams and Jeremy Wortsman

Heidi Williams (TCAAMT)

The moment Heidi was introduced to Buddhism and meditation in 2011 it was like someone turned the lights on in the room. Life made sense. She pursued learning and developing her meditation practice in the midst of a busy life with a young family for a number of years, learning from local teachers and mentors, going to retreats when possible, and seeking inspiration further afield, with teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön.

As life unfolded Heidi’s practice developed, and on retreat in 2020 she was looking to find a teacher, and was given Mingyur Rinpoche’s name. She found his way of teaching and communicating to be incredibly clear and accessible, and transformative in the way that he also offers practical advice for bringing it into in daily life.

Since that time Heidi has studied and practiced under Mingyur Rinpoche and is a Practice Leader and Board member of Tergar Australia.

Meditation and understanding her mind better has had a hugely positive impact on Heidi’s life, and has motivated her to share this with others.

She has completed the yearlong Tergar Meditation Teacher Program, and is now a Tergar Certified Anytime Anywhere Meditation Teacher. In addition, Heidi has completed the half-year Meditation Teacher Training with the Broadplace’s Jacqui Lewis as well as a 70-hour Pranayama (breathwork) Teacher Training.

Heidi lives close to the sea on the Mornington Peninsula and is in her happy place connecting with the natural world: in the water, the beach or surrounded by trees.

Jeremy Wortsman (TCAAMT)

Jeremy began practicing meditation in his hometown of New York as a teenager. After relocating to Australia in 2001, he began his Buddhist training and study with Traleg Rinpoche in Melbourne, forging a strong connection to the Kagyu tradition and how these profound practices can be integrated into daily life.

As his confidence in these teachings developed over time, Jeremy became a devoted lay practitioner studying across multiple streams, first in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and later as a student of both Mingyur Rinpoche and Gebchak Wangdrak Rinpoche. Presently, Jeremy is immersed in completing his Ngöndro practice.

Jeremy has completed the 100-hour meditation teacher training program with Dharma Moon, the Cultivating Emotional Balance Training (CEB) and the yearlong Tergar Meditation Teacher Program, qualifying him as a Tergar Certified AAM (Anywhere Anytime Meditation) Teacher.

In his professional career, he is the founder and director of The Jacky Winter Group, a leading creative services agency with offices in Melbourne, New York, and London.

As a connector of people and ideas, Jeremy is deeply committed to bringing his business and technical skills to the Dharma, finding his way as he integrates traditional practices with contemporary life.

As part of that commitment, he helped establish The Contemplary in 2016, before founding the Tergar Melbourne practice group in 2020 which later evolved into Tergar Australia for which her currently serves as a director and practice leader.

He currently lives with his partner and two children in The Dandenong Ranges and enjoys playing ice hockey, golf, and learning piano in his spare time.
